Johnny Saldanha has been Vice-President of Global Purchasing and Supply Chain for GM International Operations at the GM headquarters in Shanghai, China since May 1st, 2010. Prior to this appointment, Johnny had served as Vice-President of Global Purchasing and Supply Chain for GMIO's South America Hub at the headquartered in Sao Caetano do Sul, Brazil where he had been since 2007. Saldanha began his career with GM in 1995 as Manager - Logistics at GM India. While at GM India, he held a number of managerial assignments in purchasing, business planning, employee benefit administration, production control and logistics. In October 1998, Saldanha was promoted to General Manager - Production Control and Logistics at GM India.In January 2003, Saldanha moved to GM North America as Global Commodity Manager - Electronic Modules & Batteries. In March 2005, he was promoted again to become Director - Electrical and Chemical Purchasing at GM Powertrain. In July 2005 he was promoted to Executive Director - HVAC/Electrical Components and was based out of Warren, Michigan.Saldanha was born in 1962. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce and M.B.A. from Punjab University, India.

After working for over 16 years with M/s Tata Motors he joined M/s Hyundai Motors in 1998, as their Regional Sales Manager (Southern Region).He currently heads the Logistics team for both Domestic & Exports and is in charge of the Finished Vehicle Logistics in the capacity of a General Manager.
